For New Hampshire artist Gloria Najecki, it all started with a torn ligament. On her dog, that is. When her American bulldog, Trucker, developed a limp, Najecki had to figure out how to pay for a $3,000 surgery. Using her skills as a craft designer Najecki sketched her dog on a piece of shrinking polystyrene, colored it in, shrunk it and slapped it on a pin. She then did it 499 more times.
